Complete Schedule for the 2026/2027 Alpine Ski World Cup
A new ski season is approaching, and for everyone who enjoys alpine ski racing, here is the complete schedule for the Alpine Ski World Cup for the upcoming 2026/2027 winter season. As usual, the season gets underway early in Sölden, Austria, where the women compete in giant slalom on October 24 and the men the following day, October 25. Slalom races in Levi and Gurgl follow in mid-November before the World Cup really begins to spread across Europe and North America.
On the women's side, Narvik in Norway is one of the more interesting stops towards the end of the season. The plan is to hold downhill and super-G races there on March 12 and 13, but the events are still listed as provisional (TBC status) by FIS. The main reasons are the extensive infrastructure work currently taking place ahead of the 2029 Alpine World Ski Championships, as well as the logistics involved in the long journey from Narvik to the World Cup Finals in Sun Valley the following week. Before that, the women's circuit will also visit places such as Jasna in Slovakia and Soldeu in Andorra, two resorts that are not among the most regular stops on the World Cup tour.
The biggest alpine skiing highlight of the winter, however, is not part of the World Cup. Between February 1 and 14, 2027, the Alpine World Ski Championships will be held in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, which also explains the longer break in the World Cup schedule during February. Crans-Montana also hosted the Alpine World Ski Championships in 1987, meaning the championships will return to the resort exactly 40 years later.
After the World Championships, the World Cup continues during the second half of February and throughout March before both the women and men finish the season in Sun Valley, Idaho, in the United States. The finals take place between March 18 and 25, where the best skiers will compete for the final World Cup points in downhill, super-G, giant slalom and slalom. Sun Valley is already a familiar World Cup Finals venue, as the season also concluded there in 2024/2025.
If you are interested in visiting any of the ski resorts to watch the races in person, it is, as always, a good idea to book your trip well in advance. This applies especially to accommodation at the smaller resorts and during the major classic events, when hotels and apartments can quickly fill up with visitors, competitors, journalists and officials.
