In the middle of the Dolomite mountain range you’ll find Alta Badia. Here you can experience excellent skiing under a blue sky with astonishing panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. The skiing is found on altitudes ranging from 1,400 meters above sea level to 2,700 metres. The pistes are in total more than 130 kilometers long.
If you are fan of Nordic/cross country skiing, you can head off on your skis and discover the 30 kilometers of tracks.
Alta Badia is part of the Dolomiti Superski area that is one of the largest ski systems in the world, with more than 1,220 kilometers of ski slopes and 450 ski lifts. It is huge and you’ll need a month to explore it all.
If you want to continue your day you could go for a sleigh ride or even ride off on a horse and discover the beautiful winter landscape that surrounds you. There are also bob rides where you can go down the hill at really high speed. There is also ice-skating.
In case you like off-pistee skiing, Alta Badia has very good opportunities. Heliskiing with a helicopter is provided in case you don’t like to walk up the mountain. Since the area is quite big, there are good chances of getting some untouched snow for several days after a snowfall.
There is a train station in Brunico about 40 kilometers from the ski resort with connecting buses.
