Bormio, Italy

Bormio is a ski resort located in the northern parts of Italy. This area has hosted the world championships twice. The closest airport can be found in Bergamo and is called Orio al Serio, about 103 kilometers from Bormio. Other ski resorts close to Bormio are Santa Caterina Valfurva, Sulden and Livigno.

Good selection of slopes and ski lifts

12 ski lifts operate Bormio and 18 ski slopes are available to take you back down. If you prefer to stay on the ground, there are 12 kilometers of well-maintained cross-country tracks to choose from. If you want to try other ski resorts for a day, you can easily reach Santa Caterina or Valdidentro, which also offer good skiing. They are interconnected with Bormio via a free shuttle bus.
If you find it troublesome to carry your ski equipment, you can easily rent it on site.

Adventurous place

If you want to have some adventure, you can try the off piste skiing available. We recommend you hire a guide for this kind of excursion, no matter if you are a beginner or advanced. The snow conditions can change quickly and are difficult to predict. If you ski off piste with a professional guide, you will feel more comfortable and will enjoy the experience more than if you ski alone.
There are adventures also for the youngest. At the foot of the ski resort you will find good slopes for the children. Usually there is only one way down, so parents won’t have to worry about children getting lost.

Food and lodging in Bormio

There is a wide selection of accommodation in Bormio. Most target the mid-budget traveler and offer affordable rates. There is however also a good range of hotels to choose from if you have higher requirements. Most of the hotels are located outside of the city center, but there is a good shuttle service. Bormio has a good selection of restaurants and pubs and in central Bormio there are around 15 restaurants.
If you get tired after a long fun-filled day, you can revigorate your body by visiting one of the ancient Roman pools around.
