Villages in Les Arcs

Les Arcs is a ski area in four villages called Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000. As you might imagine, the numbers represent the different altitude of where each village is located.

Arc 1600 is the oldest of the villages and is also the most family-friendly village. If you are looking for a more action-packed place Arc 1800 is the place to go to, as this village has the most bars and après ski venues. So if you're looking for nightlife on your holiday then this is where you should stay. Moreover, it is easiest to reach Vanoise Express that takes you to La Plagne area of Arc 1800.

Arc 2000 is the highest village in Les Arcs. This village is a bit calmer, but in return, it has the easiest access to the highest and most challenging ski area of Les Arcs, including the glacier.

Arc 1950 is the newest village and here you should stay if you want to have luxurioius hotels at a reasonable price. In Arc 1950 you can also enjoy a heated outdoor pool or Jacuzzi.

Travelling to Les Arcs

The easiest way to get to Les Arcs is via a flight to Chambéry and Aix Les Bains airport. However, this airport is only served by some carriers at certain times of year. Mostly low cost airlines traffic this airport. The airport in Geneva is also an option, with higher frequency of flights.

The nearest train station is called Bourg St Maurice and is located about 30-45 minutes away by car or bus.
