Which is the best airport to fly to when going to Sölden on a ski holiday?

The best airport to fly to is without any doubt Innsbruck. Innsbruck Airport is a rather big international airport with plenty of flights, especially in the skiing season, and it is only a bit more than 1 hour drive to get to Sölden. There are also buses, shuttle service and the possibility to go by train+bus to reach the ski resort from here.

The second-best option is flying to Munich. It is considerably longer from here compared to Innsbruck but very doable. By road it is about 230 kilometres from here and the drive is usually around 3 hours. It also possible to go by train from Munich, but it requires a combination with bus and a few changes of transport. Best case scenario you can get from the airport to Sölden in 4,5 hours by public transport.

Are there terrain parks or halfpipes for riders to enjoy in Sölden?

Yes, Sölden offers excellent terrain parks like the "AREA 47 Snowpark Sölden" with features for all levels of riders, making it a fantastic destination for snowboarders and freestyle skiers.

Can I go by train to Sölden?

No, you cannot go directly with train to Sölden. The best option if you want to travel by train, either from where you live or from city you fly to, is to take the train to Ötztal. From Ötztal you can take the bus to Sölden, which takes a little bit more than an hour with normal traffic.

Is Sölden a good freeride resort?

Absolutely, Sölden has two dedicated freeride areas called Giggijoch Freeride Area and Gaislachkogl Freeride Area. Both are very easily accessible, and there are starting points over 3000 meters high, with up to 2000 meters altitude difference.

What is the BIG 3 Rally in Sölden?
