Sugarloaf is easily accessed by air via a flight to Boston or to Portland. Continue to the ski resort by rental car or airport transfer. Renting a car would be the best option and will give you more freedom. There is also an airport in Bangor, but few airlines traffic this airport and it will be more complex to get your travel itinerary to match any connecting flights.
