Aspen – One of four areas

Aspen Highlands is mixed with a combination of easy family slopes to more advanced red and black ski slopes. You will basically find something for everyone. The ones who are advanced skiers will benefit the most.

Buttermilk is targeted at beginners and families. Long, soft ski slopes and few advanced skiers that race fast down the slopes. It is also well suited for snowboarders who like jumps, rails and half-pipes.

In Aspen you will find the powder snow that North America is known for, "champagne powder". The snow is dry and nice and settles like a fluffy rug on top of the piste after a snow fall. Since the snow is ry and has low water content, it usually doesn’t get icy on the slopes. The best snow is usually found in January and February, so plan your visit to these months if possible.

Live like royalty

Aspen is visited by a large range of people, from couples and families to celebrities and royalties, which is also reflected in the large variety of accommodation. Most people prefer to stay in Aspen or Snowmass village, depending on where you expect to ski the most. There are several surrounding villages that are easily reached by car. Book well in advance – Aspen is very popular.

Fly to Denver or directly to Aspen

Fly to Denver and continue by rental car or airport shuttle. It will take you about two and a half to three hours.

You can actually fly to Aspen as well by booking a flight to Aspen County Airport (airport code ASE). This is only a fifteen minute drive to Aspen.

You can also try Eagle County Regional Airport (airport code EGE), with some good domestic traffic.
