However, there are good opportunities to find your own ski slopes by walking just a short distance from the top of the lift. If you take your skis on your back and walk, you will find excellent off-pist skiing. Be prepared to walk for at least thirty minutes, up to several hours.
The vertical drop is about 500 to 1,000 meters. About 30 kilometers from Zakopane you will find the ski area Bialka Tatrzanska. The slopes are mainly blue and green and target beginners and families.
There are two other ski resorts nearby: Krynica and Wierchomla
You might need to take a taxi to get around. It sounds luxorius but is actually quite cheap. Unfortunately the areas have different owners and you need to buy different lift passes.
Zakopane is very cheap for most European visitors. Food, drinks, accommodation and lift passes are all affordable.
