Just a short distance away from the coast you will find Krasnaya Polyana which is a wonderful skiing area known for excellent powder snow. There are six ski lifts and numerous ski slopes. However, you don’t really come here for the pistes, but of the off-piste skiing … The ski lifts take you all the way up to 2,200 meters and then you can walk up to the top of the mountains at around 3,000 meters. On your way down you pass wonderful snow fields and forests.
Krasnaya Polyana is a popular place and does tend to get crowded in the ski system itself. If you stay out of it you will find yourselves in more solitude.
